The Rowlett Rotary Club was established in 1985. The Rowlett Rotary Club is a club affiliated with Rotary International. Internationally, there are approximately 1.2 million Rotarians. Rotary is a service organization that focuses it efforts locally, nationally and internationally. Rotary International has taken a primary role to eradicate Polio from the planet. Recently, Rotary International has shifted its focus to ensuring people in under developed areas have clean drinking water. In 2006, the Rowlett Rotary Club contributed approximately $10,000 for a water well in Zambia. In 2009, the Club gave over $6,000 in charitable contributions to groups in need of financial assistance. The Rowlett Rotary Club is involved in a number of service projects and supports a number of charities in the Rowlett and Greater DFW area, including the following:  Adopt a Rowlett median  Sleeping bags to the Austin Street Shelter  Jonathan's Place  Texas Voice Project  Angel Food Project  Angel Tree  Rowlett Needy Children's Fund  Rowlett Teacher of the Year Civil Servant annual recognition  Blood drives to bolster the community blood supply The Rowlett Rotary Club meets at noon in Rowlett at Bowl-A-Rama 5021 Lakeview Parkway Rowlett.
